Celebrating Community and Youth Engagement Exhibition

20/01/2025 - 28/02/2025

Visit UCL East for an exhibition which investigates the gender imbalance in public space design through two projects being co-created by local community members working alongside professional design teams in the vicinity of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The first is the Waterden Green Shelter for Teenage Girls project which has been co-created with a group from the London Legacy Development Corporation’s Elevate Youth Board alongside the professional design team headed by Studio Gil.

You can also discover the Marshgate Lane Wayfinding Commission(link is external) co-created by artist Sahra Hersi and a diverse group of eight female Community Collaborators, with curators UP Projects guidance throughout.

Both projects have developed out of LLDC’s work on women and girls' safety and put the views of women and girls at the heart of the design process, helping to start to address the gender imbalance in public space design.
