Overview
Rick Roberts Way refers to a vacant development opportunity on Stratford High Street, bordered by Rick Roberts Way and the Greenway. The LLDC will work with a partner to deliver and exciting new affordable housing-led project on the site.
Vision
The vision for Rick Roberts Way is to deliver a high quality, inclusive and sustainable neighbourhood. The site is particularly well connected, bound by both Stratford High Street and the Greenway, sitting also in close proximity to the world class Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The vision is to create a new neighbourhood comprising housing (including a large quantum of affordable housing), new retail units that will activate Stratford High Street and a focus on active travel. Stitching together its surrounding landscape makes RRW a truly unique development opportunity.
The site was used as a Coach Park during the Olympic Games, however had always been earmarked for housing post 2012. LLDC is currently in the process of seeking a developer partner to deliver much-needed housing on the site.
The neighbouring landholding, also vacant at present, is owned by the London Borough of Newham.
The site is temporarily home to Stratford Padel Club and Storebox.
