UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON LOOKS TO FUTURE QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK

The Olympic Park Legacy Company has signed an agreement with the University of East London to work together to explore a range of community, education and enterprise activities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Margaret Ford, Legacy Company Chair and Professor Patrick McGhee, University of East London Vice Chancellor, with the aim of offering new opportunities for local residents and businesses after the London 2012 Games.

Baroness Ford, Chair of the Olympic Park Legacy Company, said:

“The Legacy Company is committed to connecting the future Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to the vibrant communities of East London. We are already attracting a great deal of interest in the Park and we look forward to continuing to work with the University of East London who have a strong record in widening local involvement and delivering successful regeneration.”

Vice Chancellor, Professor Patrick McGhee, said:

“As East London’s key higher education provider we are fully committed to playing our part in ensuring that both the local and wider community continues to benefit from the Olympic Park and its world-class facilities long after the London 2012 Games have been and gone.”
