PROCUREMENT STARTS FOR MULTI-MILLION POUND CONTRACTS TO RUN QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK

PROCUREMENT STARTS FOR MULTI-MILLION POUND CONTRACTS TO RUN QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK

Press Release 31/03/2022

  • Key operational contracts for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to be relet
  • Contracts valued in excess of £40 million
  • Supplier open day to be held on Park in April

10 years on from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the London Legacy Development Corporation has started the process to relet contracts for the operation and maintenance of its venues and parklands.

The contracts, worth more than £40 million, will cover the operation of its world-class venues, parkland and facilities as the Park enters the next phase of its journey. Among the contracts to be let will be the operation of the London Aquatics Centre, Copper Box Arena and ArcelorMittal Orbit. In addition, new contracts will be let for horticulture and grounds maintenance, including facilities management and a volunteering programme, as well as the Podium café.

LLDC is holding a supplier open day on Tuesday 26 April 2022 starting at 9.30am at its offices next to the Park. Potential suppliers will be able to learn about LLDC’s plans for the future and ask questions about the operation of the contracts. The talks will be followed by tours of the world-class venues and parkland.

The contracts were originally let several years ago and are due for renewal over the next 2-3 years. Feedback from suppliers through a Market Sounding Questionnaire in the summer of 2021 has helped to shape the format and content of the new contracts.

Mark Camley, Executive Director of Park Operations and Venues and LLDC, said: “These prestigious and high value contracts are critically important to the long-term legacy of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We have had excellent suppliers to date delivering great services in challenging times, especially during the pandemic.

“Now those contracts are coming to an end, we have an opportunity to ensure the contracts are fit for the next future, maintaining the high standards of service delivery and driving best value for the taxpayer and local communities.”

Companies wanting to attend the open day should register their interest by 12 April 2022 by emailing QEOPOperationalContracts@londonlegacy.co.uk or on the Delta E-Procurement portal here or Find A Tender here.
