PAW Patrol to the…ArcelorMittal Orbit! This February half term the UK’s most exciting viewing platform will welcome two of the PAW Patrol’s top pups, police dog Chase and fire pup Marshall. Families visiting the attraction in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will have the opportunity to come and see the characters, from the popular children’s TV show broadcast on Nick Jr, at regular intervals throughout the day on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 February as well as enjoy spectacular views of up to 20 miles across London and experience the thrill of the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide*.

The PAW Patrol pups have left Adventure Bay for the school holidays and come to visit the ArcelorMittal Orbit, which, with its two viewing platforms and slide that winds around the outside of the structure, has striking similarities with the famous ‘Lookout’ from the TV show, produced by Spin Master Entertainment. Chase and Marshall will be ‘ready for action’, with opportunities for families to see the characters 262ft (80m) in the air on the viewing platforms - so don’t forget to bring your cameras to capture the stunning London views and two of Adventure Bay’s finest rescue pups.

While the littlest members of the family enjoy meeting their heroes, older visitors can brave The Slide, a 40 second journey through the 12 twists and turns of the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide. Thrill seekers who make the plunge from 249ft (76m) high will travel through The Slide’s light and dark sections at speeds of up to 15mph and take on the gentle twists, tight turns and thrilling drops of the 584ft (178m) long slide.

And the whole family will enjoy exploring London’s famous skyline. Zoom high into the clouds to experience a breath-taking panorama of up to 20 miles through stunning floor to ceiling windows before experiencing the city’s landmarks and the iconic former Olympic venues of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from the outside observation walkway suspended 262ft (80m) above the ground. Discover sights including Wembley Stadium, St Paul’s Cathedral and Canary Wharf and get even closer to famous landmarks with innovative and interactive touchscreens that zoom into the view and uncover the secrets of the city. Learn more about Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the London 2012 Games and the sculpture’s artists through fun exhibitions and even interact with the art itself with Anish Kapoor’s two huge concave mirrors where you can flip the horizon and have fun with view.

Notes to Editors

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is an interactive piece of art where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from two observation platforms as well as a hair-raising ride on The Slide, the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide. In 2009, former London Mayor Boris Johnson launched a competition to design a sculpture for the Olympic Park which was won by Sir Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond with a design of a continually looping red steel tower. In 2014 it was announced that Belgian artist Carsten Höller would design a slide to be added to the original sculpture. Construction of both the ArcelorMittal Orbit and The Slide was made possible by Lakshmi Mittal who provided sponsorship and all of the 2000 tonnes of steel used. The ArcelorMittal Orbit is lit by Phillips.
