In arts, culture, and education, East Bank has been buzzing with activity. The Bowie Collection found its future home at the V&A East Storehouse in March, part of the Here East Campus. UCL East and UAL’s London College of Fashion opened their doors, welcoming 6,000 and 4,000 students, respectively. Mayor Sadiq Khan celebrated the transformative impact on London's cultural and educational landscapes. V&A East Museum revealed its inaugural exhibition, 'The Music is Black: A British Story,' starting in 2025.
Here East welcomed Teeside University’s London campus in January. Five universities now find their home on this location. Alongside, LMA announced an expansion into the former BT Sport complex in September.

Hosting 7,500 attendees per event, local businesses benefit from consistent and diverse foot traffic drawn by one of London's largest indoor arenas. Copper Box Arena cemented its position as the UK's eSports hub globally, hosting renowned tournaments like Apex Legends Global Series and Riot League of Legends.
These events draw thousands of fans in the arena, and millions online. This surge mirrors eSports' staggering economic growth, soaring from $70.6 billion in 2012 to $180.1 billion in 2021. The Park's vision embraces eSports, with the thriving College of Esport at Lee Valley VeloPark, and diverse eSports initiatives at Here East. The Park strives to champion both eSports and traditional sports for a forward-looking future. Major League Baseball (MLB) made its long-awaited return to London Stadium, with more than 110,000 fans making their way to the Park for a huge weekend. As the partnership continued to make headlines, the economic impact of baseball on the Park remains clear. Since the first pitch, MLB has generated over £37 million for the London economy. The rest of the UK economy has benefitted beyond £9 million pounds.

In 2023, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park soared to new heights in entertainment. Renowned global artists set records. Burna Boy sold out to 60,000 fans and The Weeknd broke attendance records over two nights.
The state-of-the-art ABBA Voyage venue has brought in more world-first digital technology. Recreating ABBA digitally brought more than 1.3 million people to the Park. Unsurprisingly, the unstoppable demand for this experience, powered by its top location within our Park, has seen the show extend its residency until May 2024 - great news for the 75% of ABBA Voyage staff hired from the local area.

SHIFT, east London’s innovation agency based here at the Park, gained well-deserved traction with the launch of the Future Industries Development Programme, providing pioneer start-ups and SME’s with financial backing, as well as linking them to the collaborative networks, workspaces and local knowledge resources that give them the best chance to succeed. Rolled out across three core challenges. With the first challenge already completed, the work will call for solutions to tackle the climate emergency.
Delivering even more value for the global innovation landscape, SHIFT made waves with the launch of their new membership ecosystem. Free to enter, the ecosystem aims to unite communities, businesses, governments and academia to find and scale solutions to the major challenges of city life.

Our bond with the local community remains a cornerstone of the Park's greatness. In 2023, the Great Get Together drew 15,000 attendees with live music, sports, and workshops. The BBC chose our Timber Lodge Café for a London broadcast. the East Summer School nurtured creativity through free interactive workshops. Hosting UK Black Pride, Europe's largest celebration of African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean heritage LGBTQI+ people, reaffirmed our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.

The Park leads the way in development with £150 million in new investments across 26 projects, encouraging increased foot and cycle traffic. Stratford Station enhancements, in collaboration with local councils, ensure continued seamless connectivity for millions of visitors already taking advantage of one of UK’s most important transport hubs. Venue updates abound: Everyone Active, the UK’s longest-established leisure contractor, is primed to join the Park as operators of the iconic London Aquatics Centre.
