Whatever the weather, there is something for everyone from pop in sessions to half and full days in the venues and on the Park. 

ARCELORMITTAL ORBIT

Join in with the autumn antics and take a trip up the UK’s tallest sculpture, the ArcelorMittal Orbit which kicks off with arts and crafts sessions celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali followed by a week of fun mask-making and pumpkin carving, finishing with a spooky Halloween party with games, music and treats galore. Enjoy these events with views across the London skyline and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. 

This half-term visitors will be able to strike a pose in the new Photo Pod and take home their photograph for free.

The Copper Box Arena has morning sessions available for 5 – 11 year olds with sports activities, arts and crafts and Halloween activities.

For teenagers, what better way to spend half term than trying your hand at different types of cycling from mountain biking and BMX sessions, road and track cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark and half term quicksticks hockey sessions and hotshots tennis at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.  

See the stars of cycling and cheer on Team GB as they return to the Velodrome for Round 1 of the Revolution Series.

Get active this half term with a host of fun FREE family activities on the Park. Whether you fancy a kick around with friends or want to try out a range of sports with the family, come along to the Park this half term where our free Active People Active Park programme is in full swing. 

There are also a series of special one-off events taking place as part of our Local Programme which showcases some of east London’s best artists and local organisations. Activities include a giant knotted sculpture on the South Lawn, a chance for all the family to meet local artists in their drop in gardening, sculpting and archiving workshops to create your own miniature concrete desert island, walks with Hackney Tours to discover some of the Park’s hidden gems, open-air Sunday music sessions, and a talk by a lock keeper in our new artwork Newton’s Cottage at Carpenter’s Lock.

LONDON AQUATICS CENTRE

The London Aquatics Centre has a range of activities suitable for the whole family. Choose from Short Course Swimming or Diving Lessons or try your luck at leaping over the high jump, scaling the floating pyramid, and jumping through the hoops of the inflatable ‘Aqua Splash’ obstacle course or alternatively just come for a swim.

Newton’s Cottage artwork, everyday and the Ins and Out of a Lock Keeper, 25 October, 2pm.
