With Christmas parties kicking off across London, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is pleased to announce the hiring of two brand new Events Sales Managers at the ArcelorMittal Orbit, Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre. The UK’s tallest sculpture and the two former London 2012 venues are unique and memorable locations to host an event and are set for an exciting 2017.

Shyam Krishnan, Event Sales Manager, ArcelorMittal Orbit

Engie, operators of the ArcelorMittal Orbit, is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Events Sales Manager at the iconic attraction in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Following a rigorous interview process, Shyam Krishan has been appointed to manage the unique venue’s hospitality programme and to build upon the success of 2016 which saw it host product launches from Ford, De’Longhi and Jagermeister and private venue hires by Jaguar Land Rover, Red Bull and KPMG.

Shyam brings a wealth of experience with him to the role having spent a number of years managing the hospitality programmes for a variety of London brands including the Riverside Venue in Heathrow and, most recently, award winning fundraising company, Givergy Ltd. 

Set in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is an interactive piece of art that offers visitors spectacular views of London from its two viewing platforms which can both be hired out for product launches, conferences, dinners or even weddings. Since June 2016, the events package has also included the option to hire The Slide, the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide. 

Chris Miles, Commercial Events Manager, Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre

GLL, operators of the Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park through their Better brand, is proud to announce Chris Miles as the new Commercial Events Manager for the two unique former London Olympic and Paralympic venues.

Chris, formerly of Vinopolis, is widely-respected in the industry; his immense experience will help drive the award winning Copper Box Arena and the London Aquatics Centre from a great 2016 into 2017 and beyond. In 2016 the venues hosted a variety of events from across the world of comedy, entertainment, sport, conferences, exhibitions, and music - with Dizzee Rascal performing ‘Boy in da Corner’ in October to a sold-out Copper Box Arena with the Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour.

On his appointment, Chris said, “I am delighted to be joining GLL and honoured to be working across two world class venues.  The challenge of attracting and delivering a wide ranging and dynamic events programme of sporting and non-sporting events across the two unique venues is very exciting.”
