London Legacy Development Corporation appoints new co-chair for Quality Review Panel

Press Release 16/11/2023

Teresa Borsuk has been appointed as co-chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation’s Quality Review Panel.

The panel was established in 2012 to provide independent expert advice on proposed developments within the Legacy Corporation’s planning area. It began work during the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and over the past 11 years it has reviewed numerous major redevelopment and infrastructure proposals, playing an important role in ensuring high-quality development is achieved in and around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Teresa Borsuk joined Hari Phillips in November, as co-chair of the 31-strong panel of design and sustainability experts, with Cristina Monteiro as vice-chair.

Teresa Borsuk is an architect, and Senior Advisor at Pollard Thomas Edwards, where until May 2019 was a senior partner. She holds a number of advisory roles, including membership of design review panels for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the London Boroughs of Newham and Redbridge, and Essex and Uttlesford. Teresa has over 35 years’ experience in the housing, mixed-use and regeneration sectors. Her projects embrace the whole spectrum of residential development and other essential ingredients which make our cities, towns and villages into thriving and sustainable places. In 2015 Teresa was named AJ Woman Architect of the Year, and she has been a member of the LLDC Quality Review Panel since 2016.

Teresa Borsuk said, “I’m delighted to be appointed co-chair of the LLDC Quality Review Panel. It’s an honour, especially at such an exciting time, with the ultimate wrapping up of the LLDC’s extensive portfolio of over 12 years of impressive achievements.”

Anthony Hollingsworth, Director of Planning Policy and Decisions Team at LLDC, said: “We are delighted to have Teresa Borsuk’s support as co-chair of the Quality Review Panel, in our final year as a planning authority. Her long-standing membership of the panel will be an asset in leading design review meetings to ensure the highest possible quality of development. Our thanks also go to Peter Bishop for his contribution as co-chair since 2021”.
