The London Legacy Development Corporation is launching its 2019 bidding round for the local community to apply for funding from the Neighbourhood Priorities Fund from 3 June 2019. This bidding round will be open for two months, closing on 3 August.
The LLDC will be holding a workshop for those in the local community who might be considering submitting a bid for funding towards a local project. This will provide an opportunity to ask questions about the bidding process and whether a project might fit the funding criteria. The workshop is being held on Tuesday 21 May 2019 from 3-7pm. If you would like to attend you will need to pre-register at cilands106@londonlegacy.co.uk. The workshop will be held at LLDC offices: Level 10, 1 Stratford Place, Montfichet Road, London E20 1EJ.
Lyn Garner, CEO of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said:
“We want to ensure that local groups benefit from the Community Infrastructure Levy that LLDC collects from developers. We want to encourage those developing local projects to apply for this funding.
“We’ve seen really good projects who were successful last year from Studio Wayne Mcgregor to Inner World Arts Climbing and Mental Health Project already benefitting from the Neighbourhood Priorities Fund.”
The Neighbourhood Priorities Fund was set up to administer the Neighbourhood Portion of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). The LLDC aim to hold a bidding round every year, where funds have been collected through CIL. The LLDC CIL Charging Schedule was brought into effect in April 2015, CIL is a charge on development to support delivery of infrastructure in the local area. Government guidance sets out that in an area with no parish councils, a Local Planning Authority that charges CIL should allocate 15% of annual CIL receipts to be spent on projects in consultation with local communities.
As with the previous bidding round in 2018, bidding for this round will be split into two groups, smaller projects with a value of less than £30,000, and larger projects that have a value of above £30,000. The application forms for both can be viewed and/or downloaded below, these contain the relevant criteria as well as setting out all the information that should be submitted as part of the bidding process. If you have any further questions regarding submitting a bid or if you wish to receive a hard copy of the relevant documentation, please email cilands106@londonlegacy.co.uk.
