Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre seeks coaches
Story 07/05/2014
The search has begun to find a top coaching team to make the world class Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park a place where people want to come to play these two great sports.
This is a unique opportunity to be directly involved in the London 2012 Games sporting legacy and join the team at the venue at Eton Manor, which hosted the Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis event during the Games.
Successful candidates will play an integral part in the opening of the premier facilities in June 2014 and will help to increase participation in both sports.
A variety of hockey coaches and coaching assistants are required to help deliver Rush Hockey, Back to Hockey, In2hockey as well as the school holiday programme.
Tennis coaches with LTA level one, two and three qualifications are being sought to work with a variety of community sessions including Mini Tennis, Disability Tennis, junior development, Cardio Tennis as well as adult drills and pay and play sessions. Having disability coaching experience would also be an advantage.
As well as being part of the London 2012 legacy the coaches will receive continual mentoring and career development and be able to work all year round.
Ashley Bartlett, Venue Manager at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre said: “Players of all standards across both sports will be using our world class facilities and we are keen to hear from highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are passionate about getting more people playing hockey and tennis.”
Boasting four indoor and six outdoor tennis courts as well as two of the best hockey pitches in the country, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre will host a variety of community, club and world class events.
