We all know by now that this half-term will be very different to those we’re used to. Usually we’d be telling you to come and enjoy the incredible activities we’d have on offer at the iconic venues and make the most of the stunning parklands. Unfortunately that’s not possible at the moment, but if you’re local to the Park you can visit as part of your daily exercise! Just a reminder to follow social distancing rules throughout your visit. We’ve put together some ways to make the most of half-term for the whole family.

With the Park being home to plenty of winding pathways and hidden gardens, enjoy a change of scenery – quite literally! – with an exploration of the lesser-known parts of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park! We have free bespoke trails that will add a fun element to your family walk, whether you want to relive the magic of the 2012 Games, admire the art installations dotted across the Park or learn about the wildlife, all while getting your steps in!

All the playgrounds at the Park are open so the kids can let off any extra steam that they may have. Whether that’s at Tumbling Bay in the north of the Park, or the Pleasure Gardens in the south, they’ll love running around and playing freely. The play areas are cleaned frequently and we recommend sanitising your children’s hands before and after use. Some areas are closed for safety.

For those cold winter days, you’ll be pleased to know that there are restaurants and cafés open for takeaway so you can warm up with a hot drink and a quick bite to eat. Please wear a mask when collecting your order. And don’t worry about nature calling after those drinks – toilets at the Park are open with robust cleaning regimes in place. For those of you that are just a bit too far away to visit, we have a range of activities that will keep the kids occupied for a while so you can have a moment of peace and quiet! There are pictures of the Park for the little ones to colour or paint, challenges to make your own venues and attractions out of household items and word searches that will help your children feel connected to the Park they love. Don’t forget to send photos of their masterpieces once finished – we’ll share the best creations on our social media channels.
