British Swimming, UK Sport, London Legacy Development Corporation, London and Partners, Mayor of London and Greater London Authority  and GLL brought the event to the capital and saw a total of 9,111 number of spectators seeing world class diving.

The British Gas GBR Diving Team brought home a silver and a bronze medal on the first day of competition as Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch and Rebecca Gallantree and Hannah Starling embraced the home support to lift them on to the podium.

70 Park Champions volunteered to help support the smooth running of the event as many returned to the venue that they’d been a Games Maker at in 2012.

The venue was sold out on the last day of competition as 2,500 people flocked into the London Aquatics Centre to see home favourite Tom Daley compete in the men’s 10m Platform final.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is now open to the public to enjoy the facilities and the London Aquatics Centre will be welcoming the best of European aquatics sport at the LEN European Championships in 2016.

Head of Events for the ASA and British Swimming Katie Bird commented: “It was great to see the London Aquatics Centre back to being the home of a world class competition. The spectators really got behind the British team and cheered them on all the way. The event impressed both spectators and athletes and we saw some of the best divers in the world perform at the highest level.”

Dennis Hone, Chief Executive, London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “The FINA/NVC Diving World Series set the bar with more than 9000 spectators enjoying the first major international competition to be held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre since London 2012.

“These events are a true inspiration for people to take up new sports, and with our legacy diving programme, we are already providing taster sessions for the local community at the London Aquatics Centre.  This will be the first of many world class events to be held at our venues and we look forward to hosting five matches during Rugby World Cup 2015, the 2016 European Swimming Championships and 2017 World Athletics Championships.”
