Easter Holidays at the Park
Story 25/03/2019
Say hello to spring and hatch a plan for Olympic sized fun this Easter holiday!
With so many things to see and do, boredom will well and truly be kept at bay this Easter holiday with things to do for all ages and abilities – all of which is set to take place in and around the wonderful settings of the Park.
Don’t forget – Stratford’s stations are connected to Central, Jubilee, overground and DLR lines as well as numerous bus routes making your trip to the capital’s most exciting Park effortless.
There are hundreds of acres of beautiful parklands, playgrounds and trails to follow which will help the little ones burn off the chocolate overindulgence in no time! Budding young explorers can check out the Adventures in the Park trail and promising future Olympians can follow the London 2012 trail.
From 8 April – 22 April, find out what’s happening across the Park by clicking on the venues and attractions below:
ArcelorMittal Orbit
For an eggs-tra special Easter treat and eggs-quisite, unique views spanning 20 miles across London, it’s no wonder that the ArcelorMittal Orbit is the hottest ticket in town so we have made more tickets available and increased our opening hours over Easter to 10am – 6pm! So for an adrenaline kick like no other, round off your day at the Park by taking in the capital’s most hair-raising, adrenaline fuelled experience!
Family Fun Day
Bring together the family for a fun-filled day out this Easter and enjoy free indoor and outdoor activities in the north of the Park. Activities include a Willy Wonka egg hunt, nursery rhymes yoga class and an African drumming workshop.
Taking place on 17 April, 11am – 3pm at the Timber Lodge Café, there is no need to book, just turn up on the day and enjoy!
London Aquatics Centre
Duck, jump, run and dive – Ultimate Aqua Splash is back! Little ones can play until their hearts are content on the labyrinth of inflatable obstacles. Limited spaces are available so book in advance. Alternatively, for more aqua based fun, take the plunge to the Tom Daley Diving Academy where sessions for all ages and abilities take place, or book on for weekly swimming short courses for all abilities.
Lee Valley VeloPark
Whether your child is seven or sixteen this Easter, Lee Valley VeloPark has a selection of fantastic activities to help them keep boredom at bay and work off the Easter excess! Learn new skills, techniques and gain confidence in a range of cycling disciplines.
Copper Box Arena
The “Box That Rocks” hosts a multitude of top class sporting events over the Easter period. Cheer on Team GB as Fed Cup Tennis comes to east London for the first time as they take on Kazakhstan for a place in the World Group. London Lions hope to close out the British Basketball League season in style as they stand in contention for a possible first league title as the season approaches its climax and London Pulse need your support as they take on the top sides from up and down the country.
Swan Pedalos and Boat Tours
With so much activity you might be feeling the need for something rather less energetic – the guided boat tours allow you to kick back, relax and reflect on a Park that is steeped in sporting history all within the picturesque setting of the Park. Tours will run from 12 noon on the hour until 4pm. Head over to the pontoon by the London Aquatics Centre or book on by calling 0845 116 2012.
Food and Drink
Following an energy sapping-day out in the Park, relax and refuel at one of the many bars, cafes and restaurants across the Park. The Last Drop is the perfect stop within close proximity to the ArcelorMittal Orbit with its locally sourced fresh food forming a tasty all-day menu. The Timber Lodge Café makes for the ideal stop after a brisk walk around the north of the Park. It also overlooks the Tumbling Bay Playground, making it the ideal spot to take in the tranquil settings whilst the kids play on the playground until their hearts content. There is also so much to discover on the edges of the Park too – overlooking the River Lee - eat, shop and relax at Canalside or head over to London’s hippest postcode, E20 where you’ll find East Village, home of wonderful eateries Tina, We Salute You and Signorelli as well as Darkhorse restaurant and cocktail bar and the Beijing street food experience of Mamalans.
