East Wick and Sweetwater developers shortlisted

Story 12/03/2014

Plans for the two new neighbourhoods of East Wick and Sweetwater on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are a step closer following the announcement of six shortlisted developers.

Carillion-igloo and Genesis Housing Association, Grainger, Lend Lease, L&Q, Mace and Argent, Places for People and Balfour Beatty will now go through to the next stage of the bidding process for the opportunity to deliver 1,500 brand new homes.

Completion of the neighbourhoods is expected in 2023, creating a vibrant new community on the west of the Park and linking to existing communities in Hackney Wick and Fish Island

The East Wick and Sweetwater neighbourhoods will follow Chobham Manor – the first neighbourhood to be built on the Park – and are a part of Legacy Communities Scheme which, as a whole, will create 6,800 homes across five neighbourhoods and create 5,300 jobs.
