The London Legacy Development Corporation is seeking comments from any interested individuals or organisations about the proposed revised Community Infrastructure Levy charges. The consultation period will run for a 5-week period, from 14th January 2019 to 15th February 2019. 

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) allows LLDC to raise funds from a charge on new floorspace that is built in our area. CIL contributions can be spent on infrastructure that will help support growth in the area. This means LLDC can support infrastructure projects that improve our area for current residents and businesses as well as those moving to the area and making Stratford their home.

The Charging Schedule sets the rates that are charged for new development within the Legacy Corporation area. The current charges have been reviewed and updated. For example, a new charge for office floorspace is proposed within the Stratford Retail Area. 

To date, funding from CIL includes a £4 million contribution towards the upgrading of Hackney Wick Station which has now been opened.  
This consultation is the final opportunity to comment on the proposed revised Charging Schedule before it is considered through a formal Examination held by an independent Examiner.

Community Infrastructure Levy is a levy on new development floorspace which local planning authorities may introduce in their areas to help fund the infrastructure needed to support growth from new developments in their areas.
