The London Legacy Development Corporation has selected Notting Hill Genesis to develop three strategic sites close to the newly refurbished Hackney Wick Overground Station, next to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Central to the project is the delivery of a new piece of high quality public realm at the station entrance which will help deliver a strategic north – south route, further improving links between the London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets as part of a new network of streets and spaces increasing connectivity within the neighbourhood centre.

These sites are owned by the LLDC and form part of the LLDC and Hackney Council's Hackney Wick Central masterplan, which was granted outline planning permission in March 2019. The LLDC’s Hackney Wick sites will deliver approximately 190 new homes. This will include 50% affordable housing in line with the newly adopted London Plan and 4,500 m² of commercial space, including flexible retail and community facilities.

The LLDC’s vision is for a high quality development with well-designed new homes in keeping with the local area, attractive workplaces as well as retail and community spaces at the heart of a thriving new neighbourhood centre - as well as new affordable workspace that was safeguardeded through the masterplan to help protect Hackney Wick's renowned creative and cultural sectors.

Notting Hill Genesis will create much needed affordable homes, workspace and public realm working alongside an award-winning team.”

Notting Hill Genesis was selected (subject to contract) via a procurement process utilising the Greater London Authority’s London Development Panel framework, LDP2. The team includes award-winning architects Hawkins\Brown, Delvendahl Martin and Studio Weave as well as Bow Arts as consultant workspace providers and HW based construction partner, ENGIE Regeneration Ltd.
