Anish Kapoor has invited Belgian artist Carsten Höller to create a giant slide for the ArcelorMittal Orbit in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. This is a unique collaboration between two of the world's leading artists and will be a major new art installation for the capital.
On 28 July, the planning application was granted approval and plans are now underway to install the 178m slide.
Thrill seekers will hit speeds of 15mph during their descent, which is expected to last about 40 seconds per ride. It is anticipated that the slide will be installed by spring 2016.
