New routes onto the Park for 2015

New routes onto the Park for 2015

Story 09/01/2015

The underpass on Carpenters Road is one such route that has recently opened, providing access from Carpenters Road in the south of the Park to Carpenters Estate in Stratford.

Additionally, there is now step-free access to the south of the Park from the Warton Road roundabout, connecting to Stratford High Sreet. For both routes, please see the map below.

In December, we began to open the Canal Park, a brand new area full of spaces to play, relax and enjoy the view, along the towpath beside the Lee Navigation canal. The opening of the Canal Park means that it is now easier for those accessing the north of the Park from the areas of Hackney Wick and Fish Island.

In late November, Transport for London announced that bus route D8 has been re-routed to serve more of the Park, including Carpenters Road and Pool Street. Route D8 runs between Crossharbour and Stratford International bus station via Canary Wharf, All Saints and Bow Church; find out more about its route at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/bus/route/d8/?Input=D8&direction=inbound

With more than 560 acres of open spaces, there’s a huge amount to explore on the Park. To help visitors find their way around, we have installed new maps across the Park highlighting all of the pathways, venues, artworks and the surrounding area. As the Park continues to evolve, these maps will be updated to reflect the new entrances and facilities.
