London Legacy Development Corporation seeks residents’ input as Local Plan Consultation Document opens for public consultation.
London Legacy Development Corporation, the organisation responsible for the long-term planning, development, management and maintenance of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, has today launched a public consultation to give local people the opportunity to submit their views on the future of the area in and around the Park.
The Local Plan Consultation Document outlines policies and proposals that meet the needs of people living and working in east London – enabling this area to fulfil its huge potential. The document sets out what development could happen in this area, and where and when this development could take place.
This is an opportunity for people to make their views known on topics including employment space, housing, the environment, transport, schools, health centres and community facilities in and around the Park, before the Local Plan reaches its more formal ‘Publication’ stage. The public consultation runs from 2 December until 7 February 2014. All responses to this consultation will be publically available once received.
Dennis Hone, Chief Executive, London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “Local people have always been at the heart of our plans and we want them to tell us about their vision for their neighbourhoods – new employment and business opportunities, exceptional new homes, schools, health and community facilities. We want to create a dynamic new heart for east London, centred on the benefits of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the unique characteristics of the local area.”
The full document is available at the Legacy Corporation office and online at www.londonlegacy.co.uk/the-local-plan
Hard copies are available at Stratford Library and the Local Borough offices of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest
The Legacy Corporation will hold community consultation events to hear from people living around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. These meetings are open to everyone and there is no need to book ahead.
