June travel and transport update

June travel and transport update

Story 18/06/2014

Events on the Park during June and July may mean some road closures and changes to transport arrangements.

The Run Hackney Half Marathon will follow a 13.1 mile route around Hackney on 22 June, including coming through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Thousands of runners will be passing through the Park, which will mean some of our roads need to be closed. White Post Lane, Clarnico Lane,  Waterden Road and part of  Carpenter’s Road and Westfield Ave and will be closed between 7am and 1pm. Please follow diversion signs for vehicle  access to Westfield and the Lee Valley VeloPark car parks.

Public transport will be the best way of coming to the Park, but please do check bus routes for diversions. Please do also allow longer to reach the Park or any of its venues.

The full map of the Run Hackney route is available at http://runhackney.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/RunHackney2014_RouteMap.pdf

Please continue to check back, as road closures can change nearer the time.
