Thousands cover Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in colour

Story 29/09/2014

After a colour crazy summer touring the country, The Color Run presented by Dulux returned to London at the weekend as thousands of runners of all ages, shapes and sizes took part in the event at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The Color Run

The untimed 5km course saw runners covered in coloured powder at every kilometre as they jogged, danced and walked their way past the iconic London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games venues.

With a focus on healthiness, friendship and community spirit, the ‘happiest 5k on the planet’ saw families, friends and colleagues from across the capital joining together to reignite the passion and atmosphere of London 2012, running in the footsteps of their Olympic heroes.

As they crossed the finish line participants were treated to one of the best Color Festivals yet, with DJs and MCs orchestrating bold and beautiful Color Throws to create an incredible party atmosphere under the gaze of the AcelorMittal Orbit tower.

The event marked the conclusion of another fantastic summer of events on London's newest park. This summer, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has hosted a hugely successful series of events including the Invictus Games, National Paralympic Day, Art Moves and the Great British Carnival.
