To celebrate National Grandparents Day on 7th October, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is encouraging grannies and grandads to unleash their inner adrenaline junkies and Ride The Slide for FREE*.

Riding the longest and tallest tunnel slide in the world, the silver sliders are in for an exhilarating 40 seconds, as they speed through its 12 hair-raising twists and turns. For grandparents looking to do something exciting on their dedicated day, it’s the perfect opportunity to push the boundaries and have the slide of their life.

As well as riding the Slide, they’ll also be able to access the viewing platforms which offer panoramic views of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and London skyline, stretching 20 miles across the city to reveal iconic landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral, Canary Wharf, whilst overlooking the London Stadium. The interactive screens also allow you to interpret the views and tell the story of the ArcelorMittal Orbit and the Park, whilst Anish Kapoor’s concave mirrors play with your perspective and turn the horizon on its head.

Daring grandparents can have a go for free on Sunday 7th October between 10am and 5pm when they bring along a family member. All they need to do is book online and enter the code GrandSlide.

You’re never too old to try something new, so we thoroughly encourage everyone to add The Slide to their bucket-list, and come and tick it off on the 7th October.”

*One free ‘grandparent’ ticket will be given per full price Slide ticket purchased on Sunday 7th October. There are a limited number of tickets available and will offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To take advantage of this, they must use the code GrandSlide when booking.
