Located in Hackney and part of the Mossbourne Federation, the school provides education for Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 – and will evolve to provide for all primary year groups.

The school will form part of East Wick, one of five new communities on the Park, neighbouring Here East, a new hub for the creative and technology industries.  It will be a neighbourhood of up to 870 homes with a mix of housing types, including family housing and private rented housing, framing the edge of the parklands. Alongside this, residents will benefit from the primary school fronting onto the Canal Park, with vibrant businesses and community spaces lining the route into the Park from Hackney Wick.

Mossbourne Riverside Academy is now taking applications for admissions for their September 2017 intake for Reception classes.  Applications for admission to the reception class should be completed  using the online application form. The application deadline is Sunday 15th January 2017.

Amy Wood, Principal of Mossbourne Riverside Academy, said:

“We are very excited to be the first school to open on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. As Part of the Mossbourne Federation, Mossbourne Riverside Academy is founded on the same principals of educational excellence as its partner Academies in Hackney.  Our pupils not only excel academically but will also be leaders in the arts, and on the sporting fields. Our unique location on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will ensure that they will always have world class facilities. The Academy is a happy, stimulating and caring place with a strong focus on good behaviour. Mossbourne Riverside Academy is an exciting place to be – and an exceptional learning experience for everyone.”

Paul Brickell, Executive Director at the London Legacy Development Corporation, said:

“We are really pleased to welcome Mossbourne Riverside Academy as the first school to open on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and we are delighted that the school children can enjoy the inspirational surroundings including beautiful Parklands, waterways and world class facilities, including the media and technology centre next door to the school at Here East.  We very much hope that the school will become the heart of the new residential community that will develop in this part of the Park.”
