The Legacy Youth Panel is made up of 30 young people from the host boroughs who have the unique opportunity to contribute to the long-term planning and future of the Park.

Young people aged between 14 and 19 years old from the host boroughs in Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Greenwich and Barking and Dagenham,can apply to be part of the 2012 Legacy Youth Panel.

Thirty young people will be selected to join 60 existing panel members from previous years to take part in events and activities that will help to shape the future Park.

The 2011 Legacy Youth Panel will present and share their experiences at ‘PARK LIFE’, a celebration and recruitment event on Saturday 10th December 2011 at the Rich Mix Centre in east London.

Young people interested in being part of the panel will join the existing Panel to take part in activities and learn more about the plans for the Park post-Games. There will be creative and interactive presentations, music, live acts and free food.

Andrew Altman, Chief Executive of the Olympic Park Legacy Company, said:

“There has never been a more exciting time to be part of the Legacy Youth Panel. We want young people to be at the heart of the Olympic Park Legacy Company’s plans.

“Legacy plans for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are more advanced than any other previous host Olympic city and this is the generation that will benefit the most.”

To date the Youth Panel has hosted major events inviting other young people to share in their youth manifesto, worked on media projects and shared their findings with politicians such as the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

Applicants will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire and should be able to attend a minimum of one session, one Saturday per month, travel independently and be from one of the six host boroughs as either a resident or a student.
