Whether you’re looking for exciting days out over the Easter break, picnic ideas and places to meet friends or just somewhere peaceful to enjoy a spring walk, you’ll find it all at the Park.
Explore the beautiful parklands
• Despite being located in the heart of east London, the Park has plenty of quiet spots to escape the crowds and have some quality time with your nearest and dearest, not to mention beautiful gardens bursting with colourful spring flowers!
• Winding canal paths and waterways make for wonderful walking routes through east London, or enjoy them from the water with our iconic swan pedalos
• Visit the Park’s new beautiful blossom garden, chosen by the Mayor of London as the capital’s memorial to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Fantastic food and drink
• Get your dancing shoes on! There will be a DJ playing on the roof at Haugen on Easter Friday and over Saturday evening and Easter Sunday afternoon
• Many of the Park’s restaurants are open for outside seating, including the restaurants at Canalside offering stunning views of the canal
• The Last Drop, located by the base of the ArcelorMittal Orbit, serves coffee, cakes and pastries, light lunches and snacks, and the kiosks along the Tessa Jowell Boulevard offer an exciting range of food and drinks, from vegan and Greek cuisine, to American style diner meals and bubble waffle ice cream.
World-class sports with a twist
• The Arena Games Triathlon returns to the Park this Easter! This trailblazing concept blends real-life and virtual reality racing, featuring the world’s best athletes like Jonny Brownlee, Beth Potter and Gustav Iden. Get active in beautiful parklands
• Moo Canoes are reopening in time for Easter! Get your friends together and take part in a classic Easter Egg hunt. Grab a boat from Moo Canoes, (just on the western edge of the Park) and track down the elusive eggs. Springtime scavenger rental includes your boat and safety equipment for an hour, and a full briefing so you'll be happy with everything before you venture out. Boats will seat up to 3 adults, but we'd recommend a max of 2 per boat if you're new to canoeing. The hunt is on during opening hours from 1st to 23rd April, including the two bank holidays during the easter break
• With wide, smooth pathways and easily accessible canal paths, the Park is a great place to run or cycle – no matter your fitness level! Use the Park map to help plan your route, and you’ll find cycle hire docking stations around the Park, and across east London, too.
Break a sweat in Olympic and Paralympic venues
• This Easter sees the return of Aqua Splash – a giant inflatable located in the London Aquatics Centre Olympic-sized swimming pool
