The London Legacy Development Corporation is offering a unique opportunity for a development partner to take forward the next phase of new neighbourhoods on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The neighbourhoods of East Wick and Sweetwater will consist of up to 1,500 new homes, including much needed private rented housing and affordable homes.  The Legacy Corporation expects the first residents to move in at the end of 2016 with the development completed in 2023 – six years ahead of the original masterplan.

Located on the western edge of the Park, with connections through to the creative and artistic districts of Hackney Wick and Fish Island, the development will include employment space, two new primary schools, nurseries and a health centre. Future residents will also benefit from the fantastic leisure facilities, open spaces and world class sporting venues of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Bidders are being invited to put forward proposals to shape and deliver these exciting new communities of East Wick and Sweetwater.

The Legacy Corporation is looking for proposals from a broad range of development partners with the right skills to take on this unique project.

The development partner could be a developer or consortium between developers, house builders, contractors, investors, Registered Providers and/or specialist private rented housing providers.

This opportunity is the next phase of development on the Park, which, as a whole, will create up to 6,800 homes across five new neighbourhoods and create over 9,000 jobs including those at iCITY. The call for developers for East Wick and Sweetwater follows the submission of the reserved matters planning application for the first phase of homes to be built at Chobham Manor to start in 2014 – the first neighbourhood to be built on the Park.

The new neighbourhoods will be situated near the new digital quarter at iCITY, which is being transformed into a world-leading centre of innovation, post graduate education and enterprise creating the potential for over 5,300 jobs.  With so much local opportunity, and some of the best transport links in London, East Wick and Sweetwater residents will be part of a unique connected community.

The creative communities of Hackney Wick and Fish Island are already seeing the benefits from the regeneration of east London – and there are plans for improved neighbourhood facilities created around a redeveloped Hackney Wick station with an enhanced public realm all with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on its doorstep.
