New tennis centre serves up Women's Wednesdays

Story 18/07/2014

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is launching Women’s Wednesdays on 23 July, serving up a set of weekly tennis sessions exclusively for women and girls.

This is a great opportunity to emulate tennis stars such as Heather Watson and try out the courts at the London 2012 Games legacy venue which are the same top standard as those used for the US Open.

Women’s Wednesdays will consist of female only, coach-led, seven week programmes running every Wednesday from 23 July to 3 September. The groups and timings are listed below:

  • 10am and 12pm: women's tennis sessions for adults (with free coffee available)
  • 5pm and 6pm: introduction to tennis for girls aged 10-13
  • 6pm and 7pm: introduction to tennis for girls aged 14-18
  • 7pm to 8pm: Cardio Tennis for over 16s providing the ultimate high energy workout. Each session includes a warm up, cardio workout and cool down phases. It's the perfect way to get in shape and burn calories.

Each of the tennis sessions on Women’s Wednesdays cost £4 per week or £24 for all seven weeks.

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre has four indoor and six outdoor tennis courts alongside two world class hockey pitches with a distinctive Union Jack design.

All of the facilities are available to book throughout the week and there are also coaching sessions and introductory sessions for both sports.
