Tow paths in the north of the Park subject to short notice closure

Tow paths in the north of the Park subject to short notice closure

Story 31/01/2014

The lower bowl of the north of the Park has been specifically designed to act as a flood plain, to prevent flood damage to houses in the Lee Valley.

Short Notice Closure

Therefore, the tow paths in the north of the Park are subject to closure at short notice.

With the recent heavy rains, we have been closing the tow paths around high tide for everyone’s safety. Closures are only likely to be for a few hours at a time, and are assessed on a daily basis. However, please do be cautious if you are down by the river at any time in the Park – especially when the water levels are high – and do not enter any paths that have been marked as closed.

The rest of the north of the Park, including the Timber Lodge Cafe, Tumbling Bay playground and Copper Box Arena should remain open.
