LLDC is holding its next Your Neighbourhood Talks event on Wednesday 27 September at the Building Crafts College. The theme of this year’s event is “Neighbourhood Priorities,” which aims to shine a light on all of the incredible community activity that takes place on and around the Park. Refreshments will be provided by local organisations Oitiijo and Grow, Hackney.
At the heart of the event is the Marketplace, where people can have a chat with attendees about who they are and what they do on the Park – and how to get involved! Organisations will include:
- Mobile Garden
- London Youth Rowing
- Adore Dance
- AAA Zone
- Build EAST Training Centre
- Secret Sauce
- UCL East
- London Borough of Newham
- Populo Living
- London Borough of Tower Hamlets
- London Borough of Hackney
- D-Lab
- Park Champions
- Lighthouse and Gardens
- Newham Chamber of Commerce
- LLDC Planning Policy Team
- HWFI CDT
- Social Ark
- Grow
- Copper Maker Square
- Skaped
- English for action London: Together for Tower Hamlets
- Skate Cabal
- Hackney Tree Musketeers
- Football Unites
The evening is also a great opportunity for local residents and businesses to find out about the latest changes on the Park and new plans for the area. Indeed, one of the highlights each year is the interactive roundtable discussions, which are a great way to discuss local issues. Topics will be based around community activity, community spaces and jobs and skills. Anyone is welcome to join these roundtables which will be led by LLDC’s Neighbourhood Priorities Fund projects and other local community initiatives.
