Hundreds visit Copper Box Arena during half term break

Story 07/11/2013

The Copper Box Arena proved to be a huge hit over the half term break as hundreds of kids followed in the footsteps of the Olympic and Paralympic athletes that have graced 'the box that rocks'.

The Arena hosted a range of sporting activities and a holiday play scheme which proved that the venue provides as much enjoyment for local communities as it does for elite athletes.

For a small entry fee, local children were treated to basketball lessons by members of the London Lions squad, boxing tuition by Barry McGuigan Boxing Academy and training sessions with Black Arro Badminton, Fre Flyers Lawn Tennis Association and Salaam Peace. Attendees were also given the opportunity to take part in a mini indoor triathlon with London Youth Rowing, British Triathlon and Lea Valley Regional Park Authority.
