Dennis Hone, Chief Executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the first time from Keep Britain Tidy.

“This Award recognises and highlights that Londoners and visitors alike are benefiting from a green space of the very highest quality.

“As London’s newest Park we understand the nations love affair with parks. Since we opened in April over a million visitors have enjoyed our wide open spaces, beautiful parklands and children’s’ playgrounds which is why we are delighted to have been awarded a green flag and launch Love Park Week at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Our Park is at the heart of the regeneration of east London and is central in helping improve the health and well being of the local communities.”
