Choreographer Wayne McGregor unveils designs for his new space at Here East

Story 18/01/2016

Designs have been unveiled for Studio Wayne McGregor, a brand new creative space in Here East, located in the north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Studio Wayne McGregor will open in late 2016 and will be the first arts organisation to move into Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as part of the cultural regeneration of the area following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The space will hold three dance studios including two of the largest in London and will be a home for McGregor’s own company, Company Wayne McGregor, as well as a facility for other artists. The space will house a series of programmes in learning and engagement, research and  technology, and a trading model in which artists are given access to the world-‐class studios for free in return for contributing their time to deliver creative interactions and engagement projects in schools and communities (the ‘FreeSpace’ programme).

As part of the re-visioning of his organisation, McGregor has also re-named Wayne McGregor | Random Dance to Studio Wayne McGregor, and has launched a new website as part of the rebrand – www.waynemcgregor.com.
