From 2016, the Stadium becomes the new home of West Ham United FC and the National Competition Centre for athletics in the UK, as well as a major venue for other sporting events. It will be open all year round for visitor tours, arts and cultural events, conferences and music concerts! Find out more about the Stadium's future here.
But you don't have to wait until 2016 to experience the majesty of this iconic arena as it has been hosting a number of high-profile events this year! Having already provided some of the most memorable nights in sporting history during the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, the venue hosted the highly successful Sainsbury's Anniversary Games in July followed by the Barbarians VS Samoa rugby match in August.
This year, the Stadium is set to provide the stage for more spectacular sporting fixtures including:
- Five Rugby World Cup matches in September and October 2015
Following the events series, transformation work at the Stadium will resume as we ensure the venue is ready for its new role as a permanent, multi-use venue from summer 2016.
