Park Mobility Service

The Park Mobility service is available for visitors to the Park with mobility and/or visual impairment. It is delivered with support from our fantastic Park Champions – all trained volunteers.

With our Park Mobility service, you can:
• Hire a mobility scooter or manual wheelchair
• Be driven around on our mobility ‘golf’ buggy
• Sighted Guides

Park Mobility is based at the Information Point in the south of the Park (opposite the London Aquatics Centre on the bridge next to Westfield Stratford City). For details of how to access the Information Point, please download the accessibility map below.

Park Mobility runs daily between 10am – 6pm daily. Please note that the golf buggy service is dependent on suitability trained volunteers availability.
Customers are strongly advised to pre-book by calling 0800 0722 110 , quoting ‘Park Mobility’. Trained staff will then take your booking details.

(Calls from landlines are changed at a local rate. Calls from some mobile operators may vary.)

Customers are also advised to call this number prior to your visit to confirm availability.

Service Descriptions

Mobility Scooters

We have seven ‘Pride Colt Plus’ mobility scooters available for hire on the Park. These can be collected and returned to the visitor Information Point. Customers are required to provide valid ID (driver’s license, passport or a utility bill dated from the last three months) and agree to our terms and conditions of hire as well as receive some basic training to operate the scooter safely. Scooters are charged at £5 per hire – this is an all-day charge (until service close).
Please Note: whilst you can hire scooters in Westfield Shopping Centre, these cannot be used on the Park. Both services run independently from each other.

Manual Wheelchairs

We have fives standard size manual wheelchairs available for hire on the Park as well as one children's wheelchair and one larger/bariatric wheelchair. These can be collected and returned to the Information Point. Customers will be required to provide valid ID (driver's license, passport or a utility bill dated from the last 3 months) and agree to our terms and conditions of hire. Manual wheelchairs are charged at £3 per hire - this is an all-day charge (until service close).

Accessible Mobility Buggy

We currently have two electric mobility ‘golf’ buggies.  One is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate up to five passengers and one wheelchair user per trip. Ramped access is available at the side of the buggy.  The other is capable of accommodating up to seven seated passengers per trip.

The buggies are driven by our Park Champion volunteers. This service is free of charge for visitors with mobility needs and one companion (when appropriate). Subject to availability, family members and friends will be able to travel alongside but should be prepared to walk if the service is in high demand.

On operational days when there are no special events on the Park, the mobility buggy leaves the Information Point on the hour from 10am and runs on a circular route around the whole Park passing each of the major venues.

Passengers can either stay on board for the duration of the trip or be dropped off at Park venues on request.

Please Note: for passengers choosing to get off the buggy, return spaces will be subject to availability.

Volunteer 'SIGHTED' Guides

For visitors with visual impairment, our Park Champion volunteers are able to assist, support and guide around the Park as required for up to two hour slots.

Visitors can arrange to meet a Park Champion at the visitor Information Point and the service is free of charge.

This service is dependent on having volunteers available who have received the appropriate sighted guide training, provided by Guide Dogs UK.  We therefore recommend that you book this service as early in advance as possible to ensure a suitably trained volunteer is available on the day of your visit.

Terms and Conditions

Visitors will be asked to sign Terms of Conditions upon hire, and will be shown and instructed on how to use the equipment. The Park Mobility service operators reserve the right to refuse hire to anyone who they deem unfit to operate the equipment safely.

All visitors must bring a valid form of photo ID with then when they collect the equipment which will be scanned and kept on record

The mobility scooters and wheelchairs must be returned to the Visitor Information Point and not left elsewhere in the Park

There is no minimum or maximum period of time the scooter/wheelchair can be used (within the PM operating times), though we do ask for an indication on when you expect to return it. All equipment must be returned no less than 15 minutes before the service closes for the day

The Park Mobility service reserves the right to close the service in extreme circumstances such as major events, extreme weather etc. We will endeavour to contact all customers in advance informing them the service is not operating.

Visitors will be given the contact telephone number for the Park Mobility service at the Visitor Information Point to be used in case of an emergency or breakdown. The security team will also be briefed on the service, and are able to contact Park Mobility through a radio network.

Visitors will be able to ‘turn up on the day’ and hire a scooter/wheelchair if they have not been fully booked (all booked out in advance). However, we strongly advise booking as numbers are limited.
