From 2016 the Stadium becomes the new home of West Ham United FC, as well as a major live music venue. It will be open all year round for visitor tours, arts and cultural events, conferences and other sporting activities. But you don't have to wait until 2016 to experience the majesty of this iconic arena
Having already hosted some of the most memorable nights in sporting history during the 2012 Games, the Stadium is set to provide the stage for a spectacular series of sports fixtures – starting with the Anniversary Games in July 2013, then the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and the IAAF World Athletics Championships in 2017.
Work is also underway to build a brand new community track. The new track will be adjacent to the southern end of the main Stadium and will be home to the Newham and Essex Beagles Athletic Club.
The community track will open from 2016 and will be available for schools and community use on a play and pay basis for a minimum of 250 days a year as well as providing warm-up facilities for major athletics meets.
