Schools engagement

The Legacy Corporation is in schools talking to students, teachers and parents to find out what you want from the Park.  We’re gathering your feedback and opinions to help shape future plans for the Park.  Each year we run a different education project in conjunction with local schools to help bring the Park to life and show how everyone can learn from it.

go! schools network

To support us in communicating to local schools we have set up the Go! Schools Network aimed at connecting local schools to the opportunities within the local Park. Go! communicates with schools through a regular newsletter, assembly pack with information on the regeneration plans for the Park a plaque to display in the school, and a range of information to be displayed on the Go! noticeboard. Through the network, we engage and keep schools up to date about the educational opportunities that exist within the Park.

So far we have 60 secondary schools signed up to the network and will open this up to Primary schools in the near future. If you would like to join or find out more information about Go! please click here.

learning trails

We are working with teachers and students and the Field Studies Council to develop a series of curriculum based learning trails for the Park. From April 2014 these lesson plans and learning resources will be available to download for free from our website to help showcase the Park as an amazing and stimulating outdoor classroom. These resources will range from key stage 1 – 4 and will cover subject areas such as maths, science, geography, design technology and PE. This exciting programme will enable students to learn whilst exploring different areas of the park looking at the past, present and future through a range of fun whilst challenging learning resources.
