New website offers clubs and community groups the chance to reuse a piece of the Park

Story 10/11/2014

A new website has been launched offering charities, community groups, schools and social enterprises the opportunity to claim materials from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), the organisation responsible for the management and development of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is committed to securing sustainable future use for all the materials that come out of the Park. For example, charities and other organisations have used timber from temporary bridges on the Park to make new planters or even materials from the temporary Games-time venues. One of our proudest success story is that of Lewisham Thunder Basketball Club who are now making use of seating from the temporary stands at the London Aquatics Centre.

Now LLDC is extending this offer out to the wider community by launching a free reuse website - www.freeusable.co.uk.

If you’re involved in a charity, community group, school, social enterprise or any other group that helps and enhances your local community, have a look on the website for a range of items from the Park, free for you to reuse on your own projects!
